PERSONAL CARE. WHEREVER YOU ARE IN FLORIDA.
Care that feels
like being known.
You deserve time to tell your story. A doctor who listens. And a relationship you can count on, between appointments, too. Welcome to a more personal kind of care.

The approach
A smaller practice.
More space for you.
We keep our practice intentionally small, so there’s time for the things that matter: your story, your questions, and how you’re really doing.
Room to be heard
A comprehensive first evaluation covering your history, goals, sleep, medical conditions, and what has or hasn't worked before.
Someone to turn to
Message your psychiatrist directly, not a call center. Side effects and questions get handled between visits.
Thoughtful medication care
Careful, evidence-based prescribing with clear explanations, regular follow-up, and no rushed changes.
Coordinated with your team
With your permission, I work with your therapist, primary care doctor, and family so everyone is aligned.
What I treat
Care for adults 18 and older.

About
Stephen E. Valido, MD, MBA
I'm a psychiatrist in St. Petersburg, Florida, and I practice emergency psychiatry. That work has taught me how much better outcomes are when people can reach their doctor early, before things turn into a crisis.
I started this practice to offer the kind of care I'd want for my own family: enough time to understand the whole person, honest conversations about treatment options, and a doctor who stays reachable. I see patients in English and Spanish.

Questions
Frequently asked
Do you take insurance?
No. Working outside insurance is what allows longer visits and direct access. You'll receive a monthly superbill with the codes your insurer needs for out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse part of the cost.
Are visits in person or online?
Visits are by secure, HIPAA-compliant video, so you can be seen from home or work anywhere in Florida. You must be physically in Florida during each visit.
Can you prescribe ADHD medication or other controlled substances?
Yes, when it's clinically appropriate and follows Florida and federal telehealth rules. This usually involves a full evaluation, a review of prior records, and regular monitoring.
What if I need help urgently?
Members can message me directly for urgent but non-emergency concerns. For an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
Do you offer therapy?
My focus is psychiatric evaluation and medication management, with supportive therapy within visits. If you'd benefit from weekly therapy, I'll help you find a therapist and work alongside them.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. Memberships are month to month. If you cancel, I'll make sure you have a transition plan and enough medication to bridge to your next prescriber.
